![]() Life is about finding joy in both the small and little things. And no matter who you are--an athlete, a marketing manager, a business owner--you should always be able to find joy in taking care of yourself, and as we all know, part of taking care of yourself means taking a daily shower or bath. Unfortunately, though, oftentimes in older age or after enduring an illness or injury, the comfort and joys that a person feels from taking a simple shower becomes a hassle. Your body aches and pains can make it difficult to take a fully functional shower, and often times leaves you immobile. If these problems happen to you, then fortunately you have options. Bath lifts and walk in bathtubs exist for individuals out there who suffer from different types of immobility that have been brought upon by old age. However, you may be asking yourself: what is the best type for me? Let's take a quick look at a list of the pros and cons of each bath aid so that you will be able to make the best decision to aid with your bathing needs. Bath Lifts Bath lifts are incredibly versatile and portable when placed into the bathtub. They have the ability to be lowered and raised, bringing you closer to the water. This aid is perfect for the person who still has functions of mobility and is able to move consistently. The bath lift is also easy to build and can be stored almost anywhere for your convenience. Walk in Bathtubs Walk in bathtubs are perfect for the individual with mobility issues that truly hinders their movement. The walk in bathtub has a small door on the front that opens, allowing you to walk inside and access the bathtub conveniently. There is also an elevated seat in the walk in bathtub that will allow you to seat, and the door is placed close for easy entering and exiting. While both versions are available at your convenience for mobility assistance, the bath lifts have been known to produce greater results when it comes to mobility aids. However, it is up to your preference and needs in the end on which you choose to pursue. Rest assured, though, there will always be assistance to help you enjoy those warm baths once again.
